France report: Trends in French wine

France remains a powerhouse in the UK wine market, although its position is far from unassailable. The headline figures from IWSR data show that in 2025 in the UK, 88% of total French origin wine was consumed in the off-trade, and 12% in the on-trade.

IWSR: Notion Gen Z is moderation generation now ‘conclusively debunked’

Data from the latest Bevtrac survey from drinks analytics provider IWSR – which assesses consumer behaviour across 15 key markets – reveals that the drinking rate of Gen Z (legal drinking age to 28) has stabilised at 74%. This figure represents an 8 percentage point rise compared to three years prior (66%).

Italy report: The country by numbers
