The Swan gets a new lease of life via José Pizarro

Chef and restaurateur José Pizarro is taking his passion for Spain outside London for the first time, re-inventing Esher’s The Swan Inn as a tapas-inspired gastropub.

The venue will maintain a “British pub feel”, while adding Pizarro’s family cooking values and a mixture of real ales and draught beers. Wine-wise, the bar will be serving a predominantly Spanish list, with a small selection of European and English favourites to sit alongside croquetas, tortilla and 100% 5J Jamón Ibérico.

The opening marks 20 years in the UK for Pizarro, who racked up time with top London restaurants Eyre Brothers, Brindisa and Gaudi before opening three of his own restaurants in the city.
