The top wines from the 2015 Bordeaux vintage which have made it into the Official Selection have been announced.
In total, 271 wines representing the very best of 2015 comprise the Official Selection of Crus Bourgeois du Médoc for that year.
Tomorrow (September 21), 189 of them will be presented at the London Trade tasting, where visitors will be able to self-pour and taste the wines.
The 2015 vintage marks the Crus Bourgeois du Médoc’s eighth Official Selection, representing the top wines from a specific vintage.
The 271 Crus Bourgeois du Médoc represents 32 million bottles, which will be marketed over the coming months.
This accounts for approximately 31% of the vines in the Médoc, across seven prestigious AOCs: Médoc, Haut- Médoc, Listrac-Médoc, Moulis, Margaux, Pauillac and Saint Estèphe
The Crus Bourgeois du Médoc are selected via blind tasting by a panel of experts, and carry an authenticated sticker to make them identifiable at point of sale.
Tomorrow’s London tasting will be attended by Armelle Cruse, vice-president of the Alliance des Crus Bourgeois du Médoc.
The tasting is open from 10am to 5pm at The British Academy, 10-11 Carlton House Terrace, London SW1Y 5AH.
