Cider specialist Kopparberg is moving into gin, releasing a bottle into the on-trade from 6 May and in retail on 22 May.
The 37.5% abv pink gin will initially be produced in Kopparberg’s signature strawberry and lime flavour and is “expertly infused” with juniper, lemon zest and coriander botanicals.
“We are extremely excited to be bringing our new premium gin to the UK,” said Kopparberg's head of marketing Rob Salvesen.
“Kopparberg is famous for flavour and we’ve worked hard to create a pink gin in the iconic Kopparberg flavour of strawberry and lime, that we know the nation loves.”
The business had waited until now to make its first foray into gin to “ensure the product met the high standard that consumers expect from Kopparberg”, he added.
In regard to expanding the new gin range Salvesen said: “We are experts in flavour and innovation, based on this I’d watch this space.”
