Bibendum signs deal as wine supplier to Cubitt House

Published:  20 February, 2019

Bibendum Wine has been appointed sole wine supplier for Cubitt House as the London-based group looks to expand.

Creating the new wine list, Bibendum and Cubitt House have focused on winemakers with a story and passion reflecting Cubitt House’s ‘farm to fork’ philosophy, with wines featured including Prophets Rock (Central Otago), Creation (Hermanus), La Dama (Valpolicella) and Jean Perrier (Savoie).

As part of Cubitt House’s premium focus, the Bibendum Fine Wine team has also secured exclusive parcels for Cubitt House.

In addition, the new partnership will include specially curated training programmes for Cubitt House’s staff on its new wine list; and wine list design using Bibendum’s internal resource.

Taking on Bibendum as its wine partner formed part of plans to expand Cubitt House, which currently has five pubs in the heart of London, said the group’s managing director, Tony Gualtieri.

“We wanted a supplier that can help instil the passion for the product with our team, as well as bring to life the products with our guests. With food, we invite our suppliers to talk direct to our teams and our guests to tell the amazing stories around what makes the product so great. I really felt that Bibendum would be able to do the same, carefully selecting key suppliers to work with from around the world, using their training resource to make our staff passionate, and to bring the product to life with our guests by inviting winemakers to come to our pubs and meet them.”

Bibendum was “delighted” for the opportunity to work with Cubitt House on its wine list, said James Stoddart, business channel director, premium groups.

“It is a hugely respected group within the hospitality industry and working together to support the premiumisation of its wine list is an amazing opportunity for us and our producers."
