Bodegas Muriel and Solaz on show at Wines of Spain

Published:  18 January, 2007

D&D Wines International will be exhibiting wines from the largest family owned Rioja winery, Bodegas Muriel as well as a range of wines from The Osborne Group, a long standing producer of wines founded in 1772.

Bodegas Muriel is a progressive winery in the Rioja Alavesa region. Testament to this is the company's 30% annual growth figure and its investment in technology - highlighted by becoming only the second winery to receive BRC and IFS accreditation.

Bodegas Muriel has an extensive range of CVC, Crianza, Reserva and Gran Reserva wines, as well as the JME range. JME red wines are crafted from 100% Tempranillo grapes using partial barrel fermentation and a shortened barrel ageing process designed to extract oak influences early without having a negative impact on ripe fruit characters.

The extended Solaz range from The Osborne Group (owners of the famous Bull icon that dots the Spanish landscape) includes three reds (Tempranillo Cabernet, Merlot Tempranillo and Shiraz Tempranillo), a Rosado (Merlot, Shiraz, Petit Verdot) and a Blanco Viura.

Brand new packaging for the Solaz range will be unveiled at the tasting.

In addition to the Solaz range, Osborne also have two premium wines in the range from Tierra de Castilla - Dominio de Malpica, a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged in new American oak barrels for 12 months, and Plural - a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Mencia will be available for tasting.

Wines will available for tasting on stand 18-19
