NIEPOORT SPONSORS WINE WAG AWARD
Specialist Port house Niepoort is to sponsor the industry's latest award - Wine Trade Wag of the Year 2003. A hand-painted commemorative plate and case of Niepoort Vintage 2000 are up for grabs for the individual who is adjudged to best enhance the wine trade with his or her own brand of humour. The wine trade is blessed with an abundance of wags, and Niepoort feels that it should honour those whose repartee brings a sparkle to the industry,' said Raymond Reynolds, Niepoort's agent in the UK. The competition is open to full-time members of the wine trade and the judges will draw up a short list of four finalists, from which the winner will be announced in April. Nominations should be made by e-mail to danny@raymondreynolds. co.uk and should be received no later than 14 March.
