Diageo GB is rolling out a host of malt and blended whisky gift packs to help retailers maximise sales in the run up to Father's Day.
Among the new products hitting shelves this month is a Lagavulin single malt Scotch whisky gift pack which comes with two Glencairn glasses (rrp £47.95), and a Malt Whisky Explorer gift pack containing four miniature bottles, a guide to the four flavours of malt whisky and a money-off coupon (rrp £12.99).
Reserve Brands, Diageo GB's premium spirits division, is also running an on-pack promotion offering shoppers a whisky tasting experience with their father or a friend when they purchase a bottle of The Singleton of Dufftown 12 Year Old single malt, Talisker 10 Year Old single malt, or Dalwhinnie 15 Year Old single malt.
For blended whisky fans, Bell's will feature a rosette on the neck of the bottle saying Number One Dad.
Johnnie Walker Blue Label consumers will have the opportunity to personalise a bottle for their Dad by having it engraved with a message of their choice by an in-store engraver, available through whisky specialists and the Whisky Exchange.
There is also a Johnnie Walker Blue Label gift set available containing an individually numbered bottle and two bespoke Glencairn tumblers (rrp £200).
Harry Meakin, senior brand manager for malts at Diageo GB, said: "Alcohol is the second largest gift category in volume for Father's Day after clothing, representing 12% of all Father's Day gifts. There is a massive opportunity for retailers to drive their whisky sales in the lead up to this occasion and Diageo has invested significantly to support retailers."
