Business as usual at Plymouth

Published:  23 July, 2008

Plymouth Gin have released a statement claiming production at their Black Friars distillery has not been affected by a blaze last week.

Its master distiller Sean Harrison has reported that the distillery's pot still and general production facility is still intact.

Last Wednesday (February 27) three fire crews were called to the scene and managed to confine the flames to the restaurant, saving the rest of the distillery, a former monastery, from any lasting structural damage.

John Cameron, Marketing Manager of Plymouth Gin for Maxxium UK, says: "On behalf of all at Plymouth Gin, I would like to thank all the emergency services involved, As a result of their success in battling the fire, I am happy to report we are able to continue production of all three variants of Plymouth Gin at the Black Friars Distillery."
