Concha y Toro has given its online WiseWine guide an overhaul to keep it relevant in a fast changing wine retail landscape.
Launched in 2016 to help retailers choose what bestselling wines to stock, how to correctly merchandise the category for their store size, and how to sell wine more profitably, the updated guide is less time consuming and is much cleaner and easier to navigate.
In addition, it features new categories such as sparkling wines, flavoured wines and other formats like bag-in-box, while also directly linking to WhatsApp.
The overhaul was in response to “huge changes” in the wine retailing landscape in the past two years, said head of customer marketing Laurie Billson.
“WineWise has improved to stay relevant. It’s responsive, easy to use and understand, and we hope will be an essential tool for time-poor retailers who want to understand a bit more about selling wine to put more cash in their till,” she said.
The direct WhatsApp link would be helpful to the “many independent retailers” using the message app to share tips, she added.
Other changes include removing the need to register and the ‘matching’ section now featuring occasions as well as foods, and an option to order PoS via the site.
Using Independents-specific data and insight, WineWise breaks the business of wine into four sections; Why Wine? What to Stock? And How to Display Maximizing Wine Sales and Profit on Return Calculator.
