Waitrose wins contract for Telegraph readers' wines service

Published:  29 September, 2015

The Telegraph newspaper has signed a deal for Waitrose to supply its reader wine offers.

Telegraph Wine From Waitrose will give readers access to an extended range including exclusive mixed cases and click and collect from Waitrose branches, the paper said.

There will be loyalty benefits for those joining a monthly or quarterly wine plan and improvements to deliveries, it added.

Barry Wyse, director of commerce at Telegraph Media Group, said: "Telegraph Wine From Waitrose will allow our readers even greater choice of wines and spirits as well as the convenience of collecting Telegraph Wine orders from a Waitrose shop.

"We would like to take this opportunity to thank our previous partners, Averys of Bristol, who have provided an excellent service for the past nine years."

Robert McCarthy, Waitrose's head of online trading, added: "We are very pleased to be embarking on this new partnership and know that our excellent range of wines will be a natural fit for the Telegraph's discerning audience.

"We are very proud of the extensive range of wine we offer and the knowledge of our experts, and we are looking forward to sharing that with all those using Telegraph Wine From Waitrose."
