The Stellenbosch producer's new collection will have a classic range of five varietals with prices ranging from £8.25 to £8.79, as well as a reserve collection of four wines with rrps from £10.49 to £10.99.

The range includes key South African grapes - Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinotage, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. The white wines are all from the 2014 vintage with the reds drawn from the 2012 and 2013 harvests.

The family-owned Kleine Zalze estate dates back to 1695 when the farm was first acquired by Nicholas Cleef - whose name has inspired the new collection. Current owner Kobus Basson said: "Our new Cleefs range is a tribute to Nicholas Cleef, his vision and his belief in this land as having great potential to produce exceptional wines. The Cleefs range is very much linked to our history and it will play an important part in our future as it helps us and our UK agent Hatch Mansfield to extend our offer to independent sectors of the trade."

In March this year, the firm was accredited with Fairtrade status, and launched a range of Fairtrade wines.

In August, Kleine Zalze appointed Alastair Rimmer as its new cellarmaster, after its previous incumbent Johan Joubert stepped down after 12 years. Rimmer held roles in the wine industry in Spain, New Zealand, California and Australia before returning to South Africa and joining Kleine Zalze.

Stock of Cleefs is arriving in the UK this week and is available to order from Hatch Mansfield.
