Thai restaurant group, Busaba Eathai, has launched its first bar - a cocktail lounge - inside its Old Street site in London.

Cocktails have been designed by bartender Joe Stokoe of drinks consultancy, Heads, Hearts and Tails.

The cocktail list will showcase Thai flavours with Lychee and Kaffir Lime Martini (jasmine and kaffir lime infused vodka with lychee and lemon); Thai Martini (gin with lemongrass, Thai basil and birdseye chilli tincture); Nam Thang Mo (Rum blended with watermelon, kaffir lime, guava and chilli); Bangkok Mule (gin with galangal, Thai basil and ginger beer); Lao Kong (green tea infused whisky with pineapple and honey cinnamon syrup); and Tamarind Negroni (gin, martini and Campari with tamarind syrup). A range of craft beers, including Gamma Ray from Beavertown and Saison from Brew By Numbers, and Thai whiskies will also be available alongside a menu of small plates including Thai beef jerky, taro chips, prawn and corn fritters and crispy rice cakes.

An all time classic Thai salad that compliments any main course, is also ideal as a summer snack.

The venue will be open seven days a week.

Conceived by Alan Yau, the first branch of Busaba Eathai opened in Soho in 1999. Busaba is a Thai flower, while Eathai is a fusion of the words eat and Thai. The restaurants offer one-course Thai casual dining with salads, stir fries and curries from an average price of £17 per person.
