Gerard Basset to take part in trade wine clinic at France Summit

Published:  10 October, 2013

Master sommelier and former World Sommelier of the year, Gerard Basset, is to take part in a special wine clinic at this month's Harpers France Summit, in which he will give his expert, personal advice on how best to source, range, price and promote French wines on a wine list.

Anyone in the wine trade is invited to pose their questions in advance for Basset to answer on the day, October 22, or delegates at the France Summit will be able to ask their own question in person during the wine clinic.

Basset will be attending the summit in his capacity as ambassador of the French Wines with Style initiative organised by one of the summit's partners, FranceAgriMer. He has agreed to take part in the open session and share his expertise with the trade. The Adding French style to a wine list session takes place between 4.15pm-5pm on October 22.

If you would like to put forward a question for Gerard Basset then please email Joanna Gibson on joanna.gibson@wrbm.com.

Basset will also be presenting a further seminar on the day in which he will explain his own personal journey with French wine and present his personal selection of more unusual wines for delegates to taste. That sessions take place between 12.15pm and 1pm.

You can also register for the event which takes place at London's St Ermin hotel and will include a series of industry debates and masterclasses, featuring master sommelier, Ronan Sayburn and Oddbins buyer, Ana Sapungiu. Register online at francesummit.com.
