Independent importer and wholesaler Heritage Wine is on the hunt for people to join its Oxfordshire and London sales teams as part of a new expansion plan.

The West Country-based firm, which specialises in single estate and single grower wines, has reported its most successful trading year to date with sales up 15%.

Heritage attributes its success to an increase in distribution and marketing activity, especially across South Wales and the Midlands.

Speaking about the new growth strategy, managing director Guy Adams said: "In these difficult times it's important not to remain stagnant but to keep pushing forward as positively as possible, raising our profile and taking on new staff. It's very important for us to keep up with expansion and remain at the forefront of the industry.

"At Heritage we don't stand still: our philosophy is to talk to customers continually so that we can meet their changing needs. We pride ourselves on our quality customer service and culture of constant evolution."

Originally a wine shop in Chipping Sodbury, Gloucestershire, the wholesale business was established in 1984 by an 18-year-old Adams.

Heritage now sells to more than 500 restaurants, bars, boutique hotels, gastro-pubs and wine merchants across the UK, in addition to the travel retail sector. It has a team of 35 staff.
