Over 70 wines from 17 Languedoc-Roussillon producers hailed as "rising stars" by leading UK and French wine critics will be on show in London on July 14.
Fifteen of the producers will be crossing the channel to promote their wines in person at Maison de la Region Languedoc-Roussillon on Cavendish Square.
The list of rising stars from the region was drawn up by critics, who were asked to select the producers they believe will shape the Languedoc-Roussillon wine scene in years to come, including those not necessarily listed on the UK market.
Sébastien Du Boullay, food and wines promotions manager of Maison de la Region Languedoc-Roussillon, said: "The aim of the tasting is two-fold; to help producers secure listings in the UK and to introduce a new wave of producers to the UK trade and press. We have come up with a very exciting line-up of mostly unsigned Languedoc-Roussillon talents and are very hopeful that this opportunity will open many doors for them."
Later in the day, the producers will head to the residence of the French Ambassador where their wines will be served at an official garden party attended by prominent British Francophiles, entrepreneurs, politicians, diplomats and leading French personalities established in the UK.
"It is a great honour for Languedoc-Roussillon to have been chosen for this prestigious event as it marks the recognition of the quality status gained by the region over the last decades and is a fantastic endorsement for our products," Du Boullay added.
