Donald Trump has added a Virginia winery to his extensive property portfolio.

The business mogul and star of the American Apprentice show, bought the 776-acre Kluge winery in Virginia, USA, at auction, for the bargain price of $6.2 million ? around one tenth of what it was worth before the economic crisis hit.

"I'm really interested in good real estate, not so much in wine," he said. "This place had a $28 million mortgage on it, and I bought it for $6.2 million. It's a Trump deal!"

He hopes to keep on his friend Patricia Kluge, 62, the previous owner, to run the operation, saying, "she has a great instinct for wine, which I don't".

Trump is no stranger to the wine and spirits business, in 2006 he launched his own "super-premium" vodka ? Trump Vodka.

The entrepreneur is lining up as a possible 2012 US presidential candidate.
