Beam signs deal for US states

Southern will have broker representation in Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, North Carolina, Ohio, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Utah, Wyoming, Mississippi and Alabama.

The deal means that Southern accounts for half of Beam's annual sales volume in the US market.

The deal covers Jim Beam and other brands, including Courvoisier, Laphroaig and Maker's Mark.

Bill Newlands, president of Beam Global Spirits & Wine USA, said: "This moves enables us to get even closer to our customers, which will help fuel growth for our business.

"We are continuously focused on seizing opportunities for accelerated growth."
