Vintage fizz deal from Clark

Published:  25 November, 2009

On-trade customers are being given the chance to buy Vintage Champagne for the price of Non-Vintage in a deal being offered by Matthew Clark.

The offer applies to Duval-Leroy 1999 and Taittinger 2003 and represents an opportunity for customers to draw attention to the premium end of their wine lists, the supplier said.

Wine purchasing director Simon Jerrome said: "We have found that over 90% of regular Champagne drinkers have never tried Vintage Champagne and we see this as a great opportunity to educate consumers on its quality and heritage.

"Like the off-trade, we want to offer value to our customers and ultimately their consumers with Champagne this Christmas.

"We are taking advantage of the fact that exports of Vintage Champagne are down but are turning it into and educational opportunity for consumers."

The promotion will be backed by POS, including tent cards, and runs until January 31.
