The Leasingham winery in Clare, Australia, looks likely to close next month after Constellation failed to find a buyer.

The Leasingham winery in Clare, Australia, looks likely to close next month after Constellation failed to find a buyer.

Leasingham was one of three Australian wineries put on the market last year by the company as part of an efficiency drive.

Constellation wants to keep the Leasingham brand, buying grapes from the estate's new owners.

But despite some interest in the property, no deal has been struck, meaning Constellation faces a decision about the future of the Leasingham brand. It is likely to retain some of its grape-growing interests on the estate which would ensure continuing production elsewhere.

The 116-year-old estate could be redeveloped for housing of Constellation does not succeed in a sale, according to local sources.
