Double digit growth for Asian wine market

There will be growth of between 10-20% in the next five years within the Asian wine market.

This is the verdict of Hong Kong's Trade and Development Council (TDC), which has predicted regional consumption will double over this period, reports AFP.

Hong Kong, mainland China, Taiwan, Korea and Singapore will mean consumption of wine in the region (excluding Japan) will reach Hk$130bn in 2012 and Hk$210bn by 2017.

The TDC estimates the China will import Hk$870m of wine by 2017.
