PERNOD RICARD ANNOUNCES NEW STRUCTURE FOR UK

Published:  23 July, 2008

Pernod Ricard is to base three of its businesses in the UK, now that confirmation of all regulatory approvals of its acquisition of Seagram Spirits & Wine business has been approved. Pernod Ricard World Trade (PRWT), the group's new duty free and travel retail business - now the second largest international spirits and wines retail travel distributor - will also be based in London. Gilles Cambournac, previously CEO of Campbell Distillers, becomes chairman and CEO of PRWT. Chivas Brothers becomes the umbrella Scotch whisky business for all the group's Scotch whiskies, including Campbell Distillers and Chivas Brothers brands. The two brands will now come under a single management team, with a new commercial and marketing department, to reflect both the global reach and importance of Scotch whisky to Pernod Ricard. Georges Nectoux, who was chairman of PR Europe, becomes chairman and CEO of Chivas Brothers Ltd. The headquarters of Chivas Brothers will be in Paisley and there will be offices in London. Pernod Ricard UK, the group's UK distribution company, was formed in July 2001, following the merger of PR Brands UK and Caxton Wines. It looks after sales and marketing of all Pernod Ricard spirits and wines, including the Seagram brands. Paul Duffy will become the new chairman and CEO of Pernod Ricard UK, reporting to PR Europe. He joins from sister company Irish Distillers. Duffy said: Our portfolio now features more famous brand leaders, such as Chivas Regal and Martell joining the likes of Jameson, Jacob's Creek, Havana Club, Pernod and Aberlour.'
