UK: Sainsbury's enjoyed a fantastic night of success at the Retail Industry Awards ceremony held on September 27 at London's Grosvenor House Hotel picking up the overall Supermarket of the Year prize as well as being named Off-Licence of the Year.
Spar picked up a host of independent categories for its stores across the UK, incuding Northern Ireland.
The Retail Industry Awards marked the chain's 50 years of retailing with a special Outstanding Achievement Award.
But it missed out on the blue riband category for the independent sector, the Symbol Group of the Year, which went for the first time to Nisa, the symbol group arm of wholesalers, Nisa-Today's.
