Gerard Basset MW, who co-founded the Hotel du Vin restaurant chain, is to open a new hotel in the New Forest, Hampshire.
Hotel TerraVina will be located in the village of Woodlands, close to Southampton, and will have 13 bedrooms, a 60-cover restaurant, and a small meeting and function room (25 covers).
Basset told Harpers: The idea is to offer a relaxed, modern, mid-market hotel in the countryside, with a great restaurant, offering very enjoyable food, superb wines and very friendly service.'
Hotel TerraVina is due to open in the summer - at the moment it is called Busketts Lawn Hotel.
Basset co-founded the Hotel du Vin group with Robin Hutson. Their first hotel was in Winchester, and the duo opened five before selling the group to MWB, which owns the Malmaison hotel group.
