2004 Burgundies stolen in transit

Published:  23 July, 2008

Several cases of top-end Burgundy were stolen from lorries en route to Richards Walford in the UK, in two unrelated incidents last week. The wines, which have a total market value of more than 5,000 and are all from the 2004 vintage, went missing some time between Tuesday and Wednesday last week (28 and 29 November).

In the first theft, the wines were all from Domaine Leflaive, and comprised a three-magnum case of Chevalier-Montrachet; two three-magnum cases of Btard-Montrachet; a six-magnum case of Puligny-Montrachet Les Pucelles; and two six-magnum cases of Bourgogne Blanc.

In the second incident, two 12-bottle cases of Drouhin-Laroze Musigny were taken. Anyone with information on the incidents should call Richards Walford's marketing manager Karen Jenkins on 01780 460 451.
