Enotria turns focus on Chile with VSPT partnership

Enotria & Coe has joined forces with Viña San Pedro Tarapaca Wine Group (VSPT) to push the Chilean wine category in the UK.

As part of the collaboration, Enotria & Coe has taken on the exclusive UK distributing rights for the 35 South, Sideral, Tarapacá and Viñamar brands from the Chilean producer - the second largest export group for Chilean wine, according to Enotria & Coe.

The partnership was a “fantastic opportunity” for the two businesses to work together across all channels to drive the Chilean category, said Harriet Kininmonth, head of wine buying, Enotria & Coe.

“We are delighted to be embarking on this new venture with VSPT, the Chilean leader in premium bottled wine, who are dedicated to building brands, delivering quality and pioneering sustainable methods,” she said.

Enotria had worked closely with VSPT to present a range exclusively for the multiple off-trade channels that offered “unrivalled quality” in its category, while for the on-trade a new look had been introduced for boutique winery Viñamar, added Kinimonth.

“With the new range of wines, VSPT believes it has the power and potential to restore Chile’s image as a serious, premium player in the market,” she said.

Enotria’s new offering, abetted by the brand support of VSPT, equipped the business to challenge its customers to take Chile seriously as a “quality option for their wine lists”, she added.

“Enotria & Coe’s partnership with VSPT comes at a time when the UK drinks industry continues to encounter challenging market pressures, and increasingly customers are seeking alternatives to bolster heavily-skewed European lists. Chile, a country famed for producing clean and polished wines at affordable prices, offers a strong solution in this landscape,” she said.
