Devon-based winery Lyme Bay has announced a new partnership with leading UK wine and spirits distributor, Enotria&Coe.
Four of the English wine producer's wines have been added to Enotria&Coe's portfolio: still wines Shoreline (2015), Bacchus (2015), and Pinot Noir Rosé (2015), alongside Lyme Bay's Brut Reserve (2013) sparkling wine.
Maggie Macpherson, wine buyer at Enotria&Coe, said: "Provenance is becoming increasingly important to UK consumers, and over the past few years we have seen this reflected in the growing demand for premium quality English wines. The purity of fruit and quintessentially English flavours of Lyme Bay's wines shone through in our tasting sessions, and we're delighted to be working with Lyme Bay Winery to bring its award-winning English wines to our on- and off-trade customers."
James Lambert, MD at Lyme Bay Winery, added: "Enotria&Coe have a fantastic reputation for supplying premium quality wines to the on- and off-trade, and this partnership demonstrates the growing appetite for English wines across the UK. We have some fantastic distribution partnerships set up in key regional areas of the country, and working with Enotria&Coe will enable us to reach customers in regions that were previously inaccessible."
Lyme Bay Shoreline 2014 was one of the 12 English and Welsh wines added to Waitrose's expanding portfolio of home-grown wines this summer.
Back in April, the retailer announced it was planning on broadening its range by a quarter, after seeing sales of English and Welsh wines rise by 22% compared to the previous year.
