Eurowines expands New World portfolio

Eurowines and Chile's Viña Undurraga have teamed up for a new partnership in the UK.

Operating with a strong Italian focus, Eurowines has also developed relationships with producers from all the key wine producing countries.

Now it is expanidng its New World offering with Viña Undurraga.

Nello Battistel, managing director at Eurowines, said of the new venture: "We are very excited about the new partnership with Undurraga, an internationally acclaimed winery that represents the very best of quality wine production in Chile."

The Chilean winery and the specialist importer are preparing for their first collaborative event together at Mercado Chileno on September 13, when they will be presenting a range of wines from the Undurraga collection.

Eurowines will be listing the following ranges: U for Undurraga, Aliwen Reserva, Sibaris, Terroir Hunter (T.H), Vigno, Altazor and the sparkling wines.

Running for over 50 years, Eurowines is privately owned and managed by Nello Battistel and Leo Addis.

Vina Undurraga dates back to 1885 when Francisco Undurraga Vicuña brought European grape cuttings back to his native Chile.

Today, Viña Undurraga is one of the largest wine companies in Chile with a winemaking capacity of 24 million litres and exports to more than 70 countries selling up to 1.7 million cases per year worldwide.

They were the first Chilean winery to export to the US in 1930.

 The company owns over 1,300 hectares across Chile, with winemaker Rafael Urrejola at the helm.
