Roger Jones and his team from The Harrow at Little Bedwyn raised £36,000 for the NSPCC Wales and nearly £1,400 for drinks charity The Benevolent over the past week.

The NSPCC is a charity that helps to protect and fight for child protection.

"There is a huge need to care and support children who are not as fortunate. It is also very important to make more people aware of the needs and difficulties that so many children in Wales face and we are delighted that we were able to help in a small way in hosting a lunch at our restaurant," said Roger Jones who founded The Harrow with his wife 18 years ago.

The first three events included a lunch with 60 attendees, a Tri- Nations dinner challenge and a Sparkling Sunday event, raised £36,000.

The final event which was hosted on Tuesday the 19th of July 2016, was the tenth annual Mamba Awards. The judging was held on the hottest day of the year to date and sixty-nine Australian wines were judged by large panel made up of trade professionals and MWs.

David Cox, the chief executive of The Benevolent, said: "Roger & Sue Jones are wonderful supporters of The Benevolent and for many years have raised funds for the trade charity during the Mamba Awards and in fact at the preceding Tri-Nations dinner too. This, their 10th year was no exception and a fantastic £1,395 was raised through raffles and prize draws.  We are so grateful.  It must be noted that their wider charitable work in the community is exceptional and they are to be applauded for the incredible example they set".

Jones hosted four separate events in total at his Michelin Star restaurant which is located in Wiltshire. He and his wife have supported a number of different charities in the past including Ty Hafan Hospice in Wales with his Chefs Night Out, which regularly raising over £100,000 at the Gala Dinner, and Welsh Guards injured in Afghanistan through Ryan Jones's Testimonial Year.
