UK-based distributor Amathus is launching a new whiskey bourbon drink which uses a technique to accelerate the maturation process.
Whiskey Thief is matured in new oak American barrels that contain additional oak inserts to increase the whiskey's contact with wood.
The bourbon is aiming to be the "antithesis" of most bourbon brands.
The team behind the launch describe it as a fusion of "whiskey-making tradition with innovation", featuring a mask-style label, modern typography and bold colour scheme.
Created by a UK-based team, the bourbon has been developed over several years with MGP Distillery in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.
The taste profile combines for the drink incorporates a well-rounded flavour, with sweetness, an undercurrent of fruit spice and vanilla and mocha notes.
Whiskey Thief will be distributed exlclusively in the UK by Amathus Drinks.
Back in March, Amathus Drinks began to distribute Michel Couvreur's range of premium hand-crafted French-aged Scottish whiskies in the UK.
Bourbon, craft beer and whiskeys were among the standouts in a subdued global alcoholic drinks market last year according to Euromonitor International.
In 2014, Bourbon Irish and Japanese whiskeys climbed 5%, 8% and 7% respectively as key Western European markets took a back seat to growing North America success.
A 70cl bottle of Whiskey Thief Straight Bourbon will retail at £27.76.
