Thiénot Bordeaux-Champagne has appointed ex-Majestic buyer, Nick Dagley as its new commercial director for the UK and Ireland.
Dagley joins the company with 12 years' experience as a retail buyer, an in-depth knowledge of the UK market and a wealth of trade contacts.
Previous roles include Bordeaux buyer for Majestic and head buyer at Lay & Wheeler.
He replaces Sarah Chadwick, who has left to pursue interests outside the wine trade.
Dagley said: "As a buyer, I thoroughly enjoyed working with Thiénot Bordeaux-Champagne. It is a modern, forward-thinking company with a great team spirit, and with its sights on the future.
"As a producer and négociant, the company has a 360-degree view of the market.
The focus is on quality, demonstrating the value that Bordeaux can provide.
"I hope to build on the excellent work Sarah has done over the past 18 years."
Dagley's will be responsible for the CVBG Dourthe Kressmann, Dourthe and Clos de los Siete portfolios, as well as the Champagne brands from Thiénot.
Champagne Thiénot was founded by Alian Thiénot in 1985, when he was already well established as Bordeaux producer with Château Rahoul and Château Ricaud.
Thiénot Bordeaux-Champagne is one of France's leading family-owned producers of premium wines, with over 725ha of land under vine and nine Bordeaux châteaux.
It established its UK distribution arm in 2013.
Dagley will be based in the UK and can be contacted by email at nick.dagley@thienotexport.com.
