The Rathbone Family Group, owner of Yering Station in the Yarra Valley and Mount Langi Ghiran in Central Victoria, has added the 18-hectare Parker Coonawarra Estate, founded in 1985 by the late John Parker, to its stable of premium Australian wineries. Director-winemaker Darren Rathbone told Harpers that although consistency in style was important, the company was likely to move from American to French barrels and extend production so that we use 100% of our vineyard production'. Currently only 70% of the Parker vineyard production goes into the estate's three-strong range.
