"Pants" to poverty for Red Nose Day

Published:  23 July, 2008

It's Big. It's Red. And it's just around the corner.

Across the UK people are getting ready for Red Nose Day - 16 March 2001 by embarking on all kinds of pant-fuelled pursuits supporting Comic Relief to help some of the poorest and most vulnerable people in the UK and Africa. Comic Relief has come up with an array of "knicker-clad capers". "Say Pants To Poverty" is the theme of Red Nose Day 2001, which is the excuse for everyone at work to have "thongfuls" of fun raising millions of pounds for Comic Relief. Briony Slot from Comic Relief said: "It's so easy to do something. Just take a break, have a laugh and make a difference. What about charging colleagues 2 to wear their pants outside their trousers for the day? Play pantie hoopla', winning minutes off work for every undie successfully landed on the boss's bonce. Or set a challenge to find the most hideous pair of pants in the company. Red Nose Day is a good excuse for getting in some hefty team-building, and exploiting a bit of healthy inter-company rivalry while blowing cobwebs out of the system at the same time." This year, Comic Relief supporters will be able to post what they are doing on the Red Nose Day website: www.comicrelief.com.
