Kornicis Group opens eighth Jamies Wine Bar

Kornicis Group is expanding its estate with the opening of its eighth Jamies Wine Bar in London.

Situated just off Cannon Street on Suffolk Lane, it offers a "City"-style menu and a drinks list featuring global wines and Champagnes aimed at attracting aspirational City workers looking for quality.

Chief executive Nick Tamblyn said: "We are very excited about the launch of another site. The new Jamies on Suffolk Lane is a great step forward for us and we are excited about its prospects and sales ability.

"We benefit from a tightly costed business, controlled by experienced managers and it is promising that we are in a financial situation to build a business that we know is successful. Our place in the market is prominent in and we will continue to execute this strategy."

The bar and restaurant operator, which also manages Smollensky's and Henry J Bean's, is on track to secure at least five new London sites in the next 12 months.

Kornicis Group recently acquired a site from Barclays Bank, which will allow the group to add to its already 20-strong estate.
