Northern Ireland's James Nicholson merchants has appointed a Master of Wine to its buying team.

Jane Boyce MW, one of only four Irish Masters of Wine, is now fine wines manager at JNwine.com, and brings with her 30 years of experience in the trade.

Managing director James Nicholson said: "There are only 300 Masters of Wine in the world and having Jane onboard is a real advantage for our customers, our staff and our business.

"The simple fact is that few are more qualified than Jane and it's important for us to work with the best people to ensure we set the standard across Ireland.

Increased competition has fuelled innovation and creativity and that's good news for customers who have access to wider a range. Wine doesn't have to be complicated and we know that customers want good advice to help make better choices."

JNwine.com supplies many Irish restaurants and hotels and has a list of more than 1,000 wines available online and at its premises in Crossgar.
