Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte has announced it is "quietly confident" about the
outcome of this year's harvest.
It says all indications point to a good year, with good acidity, well-balanced grapes and healthy conditions in the vineyard.
The early-ripening harvest showed exceptional weather conditions at the start of 2011 have made it an "unusual year".
Flowering took place rapidly due to a very hot and dry spring and despite a rather changeable summer period with twice the average amount of rainfall.
Sufficient sunshine throughout August promoted even and rapid development of the bunches, and also a rapid increase in sugar levels.
With the early harvest everyone at the Centre Vinicole - Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte has been working hard to bring in the maximum quantity of grape juice as quickly as possible.
Cellar master, Jean-Pierre Vincent, says" "Quality and volume levels are looking positive for the 2011 harvest.
"The grape bunches for all three grape varieties are healthy and of good quality, with good alcohol/acidity balance which points towards great Champagne."
