A troupe of wine talent has been lined up to speak at this year's Restaurant Show ? top sommelier Costanzo Scala of Benares will be joined by the Savoy's Christopher Cooper to talk about the latest wine trends.
The pair will join a host of other expert speakers at the show's Drinks Quarter from October 10 to 12 at Earl's Court 2 to deliver a series of seminars and demonstrations focusing on business advice, food-matching ideas and tips on how to create a drinks menu.
Scala, group wine buyer and head sommelier at Benares will talk about pairing Indian cuisine with wine, Tim Atkin MW will focus on the great wine regions of tomorrow, Sarah Jane Evans MW is teaming up with Sara Jayne Stanes, from the Academy of Culinary Arts, to discuss chocolate and wine. Peter McCombie MW will share his insights on how getting wine service right can help drive profitablility.
This year's Gold medal winners at the International Wine Challenge will be shared by the organisation's co-chairman, Charles Metcalf, while Ben McFarland and Charlie McVeigh, founders of The Draft House, will talk about craft beer.
Seminars include 'Life Without Pinot Grigio' examining its popularity and looking at suitable replacements on the menu, 'Spain - not just Rioja' and 'France - Fighting Back', which will looks at how traditional French favourites are making a comeback.
