PLB has added two Spanish producers to its portfolio: Navarra's Bodegas Ochoa and Rioja's Miguel Merino.
Both wines are aimed at the high-end on-trade and independent sectors.
"We are thrilled to be working with both of these prestigious, multi-award winning wineries," said PLB's European buying director Nick Tatham MW.
"Miguel Merino is a highly regarded boutique producer of excellent Rioja, while Bodegas Ochoa has been instrumental in increasing the awareness and appreciation of Navarra as a wine region in its own right."
The Ochoa family built its current cellar in 1845 and has a range spanning young reds, varietal whites and Gran Reservas. Grapes are sourced from 143 owned hectares planted with old vines grafted onto a selection of cultivated rootstocks.
Miguel Merino - who has been working at Bodegas Ochoa since 1985 and still holds the position of export director - established his eponymous winery in 1993. Grapes for his Crianza, Reserva and Gran Reserva Rioja wines come from 11 hectares of old vine, south-facing vineyards at high altitudes of 550 metres in Briones, Rioja Alta.
