Three Vines launches into 50cl bottles

Published:  11 September, 2009

Pernod Ricard UK is to champion 50cl bottle sizes for wine with the launch of its Jacob's Creek Three Vines range in the format.

The company is releasing three of the tri-varietal wines in 50cl packs in the next few days with a recommended retail price of £4.99.

The range comprises Semillon/Sauvignon/Viognier, Shiraz/Grenache/Sangiovese (rosé), and Shiraz/Cabernet/Tempranillo.

Pernod Ricard pointed to a Jacob's Creek survey, Wine Intelligence research and Nielsen figures showing a raid rise in sales, as evidence of the potential for 50cl pack sizes.

Wine director Nick Blair said: "Through our consumer research we have established that consumers are eager to purchase a smaller bottle of wine from a brand they can trust.

"Those who fancy a couple of glasses of wine, but would not finish a full bottle, or consumers looking for a wine to pair with a home-cooked dinner for two, now have a solution".
