Harpers and Harpers on Trade (HOT) have both picked up prizes at two different publishing awards events in the past week. Harpers received a Highly Commended' in the prestigious Periodical Publishers' Association's 2002 Awards for Editorial and Publishing Excellence. The award went to Harpers' editorial director Tim Atkin, in the best editor of a business or professional magazine' category. Meanwhile, HOT contributor Dave Broom picked up the Glenfiddich Drink Writer of the Year award for his work in HOT and Wine. Broom also collected the Best Drink Book award, along with co-author and Harpers contributor Susy Atkins for Drink! Never Mind the Peanuts. Another Harpers contributor, John Stimpfig, won the Glenfiddich Wine Writer of the Year prize for his work in the FT Weekend How to Spend It magazine.
