Ex Western Wines employee dies in car crash

Published:  23 July, 2008

Nicholas John Gretton, an ex-employee of Western Wines, has been killed in a car crash in Spain.

He died on Sunday May 11 at 3.35pm on a motorway just outside Barcelona.

The 30-year-old from Bridgnorth was a keen angler and worked at Western Wines for a number of years before setting up his own IT firm servicing companies such as Off Piste Wines, Vincor and Constellation.

Andy Bayliss-Kyte from Telford was also involved in the car accident and is being treated in a hospital in Barcelona. The two men were in Spain on a fishing trip.

Speaking on Wednesday May 14, his mother, Susan Gretton paid tribute to her son.

She told the Shropshire Star: "He lived for fishing. He was a very hard-working, happy-go-lucky person and he will be sadly missed by everyone. We are currently making arrangements, we don't know yet whether we need to go over to Barcelona or not."

Details of his funeral have not yet been announced.
