Hong Kong has been named as the venue for the 2008 Vinexpo Asia-Pacific conference.
The biggest wine and spirit exhibition in the region will take place from May 27 to May 29 and showcase products from at least 30 countries.
Some 600 exhibitors will be present at next year's event based on current stand bookings.
Wine consumption in Asia is growing at 7.9% a year.
Mr Robert Beynat, Vinexpo Asia-Pacific Chief Executive, said: "Our decision to exhibit in Hong Kong reflects the potential for development in the 18 Asian markets and the strategic position of Hong Kong at the geographic centre of this impressive gateway to Asia."
Vinexpo research discovered that the consumption of wine in Asia exceeded one billion bottles in 2006. China and Japan are the two largest consumers of wine in the Asian market.
By 2011, China will be the eighth largest wine consuming country in the world.
