DECANTER SHEDS FIVE STAFF

Published:  23 July, 2008

As part of a package of 118 redundancies at IPC, Decanter.com will be losing five members of staff over the next three months. Kristin Neary, sales executive, has already left the company and Tom Chippendale, web editorial; Gwenan Davies, publisher; Victoria Robinson, marketing executive; and Harriet Waugh, tastings editor, will follow her by the end of March. The redundancies are thought to be part of a portfolio review introduced by new owners AOL Time Warner, who took over IPC in October 2001. Commenting on the staff cuts, web editor Adam Lechmere told Harpers: It's important to stress that the website is not closing. There will be no falling off either of standards or continuity of news reporting, and we will continue to recommend up to 20 or 30 wines a week.'
