Vodka maker's school of spirits
New Zealand vodka producer 42 Below is running paid-for courses on the spirit at Harvey Nichols' Prism Bar and The Player bar in London.
Marketed as "Vodka University" or "Vodka U", courses are run by expert Jacob Briars. The events start at 6.30pm and provide information on the differences between premium and super-premium vodkas and a history of the drink from the 12th century.
There will be tutored tastings of potato, wheat, barley and rye vodkas from different parts of the world.
The Harvey Nichols event takes place on November 5 and 9th, and costs 35 per person, including a main course dinner. The Player event, on November 6, costs 15 per head, with canaps and a cocktail.
