Champagne Ambassador prize down to final three

The three UK finalists for the third Champagne Ambassador's Award have been named. They are Tom Forrest, Michelle Cherutti-Kowal, and Sarah Abbott.

All three will meet in London on September 17 to compete for a place in the European final, which is being held in Epernay on October 22.

The candidates will each give a lecture before a panel of judges including Gerard Basset MW, Charles Metcalfe and Peter McCombie MW, with the winner being judged "on ability to communicate knowledge and passion for Champagne to a wider audience", according to competition organiser, the Comit Interprofessionel du Vin de Champagne (CIVC).

The UK winner will then compete against seven other European finalists to have a chance of being awarded the Grand Prix.
