PizzaExpress has launched a new and improved wine list, the most significant changes to be made since 1965.
The new list was compiled by Master of Wine Adrian Garforth and food-matching was a priority in terms of selection.
Established grape varieties have been represented but there is a new emphasis on introducing lesser-known grapes as part of a blend, with options such as Nero d'Avola Shiraz and Inzolia Chardonnay.
Tim Gambrill, head of food and drink at PizzaExpress, commented: Blending varieties has made the offering more accessible. We've found that Sicily in particular has some great wines to offer.'
