Jascots reveals record sales

Published:  21 May, 2019

Jascots Wine Merchants has posted sales of £9.25 million - a record high - for the year ending 30 April 2019.

The independent wine merchant said it had added nine new exclusive producers to its portfolio during the year, including doubling the number of organic wines it offers, and that volume sales of organic wines almost trebled year on year.

“It’s been a really challenging year for the on-trade and so our growth has been driven by new business in the main,” said Jascot’s managing partner Miles MacInnes.

“We’re proud to have won more new customers this year than ever before. It has been great to see organic sales booming and the success of the new producers we have brought into the portfolio; by carefully choosing the timing of each launch we have seen immediate sales success for all of them."

The company aimed to do the same again over the next twelve months with "some very exciting new partnerships lined up", he added.

In November last year, Jascots reported a 132% leap in value sales of its biodynamic and organic wines.

The soaring sales, recorded for the six months to 31 October 2018, had been driven by consumer demand, said MacInnes at the time, adding the business, which supplies restaurants, hotels and caterers, had seen an increase across all client sectors.
