UK spirits distributor Mangrove has appointed Tim Dunlop to the position of regional account manager.
Dunlop, who takes on his new role with immediate effect, joins Mangrove from northern-based regional drinks wholesaler Hammonds of Knutsford where he was business development executive.
In his new position, Dunlop's responsibilities encompass customers in the independent on and off-trade, online and specialist retail and route to market sectors.
Prior to joining Hammonds in 2012, Dunlop was involved in brand ambassador work across the north of the UK for a number of high end premium spirits brands and he has been involved in the alcohol industry for more than seven years in a variety of different roles.
Dunlop's “expertise” would aid Mangrove’s existing relationships to flourish, said the business.
“The addition of Tim will further reinforce Mangrove’s reputation as one of the best in the industry for specialist spirits and liqueurs, backed by expert knowledge and uncompromising customer service,” it said.
Having worked alongside the sales team at Mangrove during his time at Hammonds of Knutsford, Dunlop said of his new position that he knew he would “fit the bill perfectly”.
“This was further enforced when speaking to friends, colleagues and customers in the industry all of whom spoke very highly of Mangrove and their superb portfolio of brands.”
Hammonds of Knutsford confirmed it would not be replacing Dunlop.
“We already have a team of six other sales managers and Tim is irreplaceable and will be terribly missed by all,” said managing director Jonathan Hammond.
Last week, Mangrove was appointed as the exclusive UK distributor of Brown-Forman’s premium Scotch Whisky portfolio.
