Flint Wines eyes growth with new senior development manager

Published:  25 July, 2018

Specialist fine wine importer Flint Wines has hired a new company development manager as part of an “ambitious” five-year plan to drive the company forward.

Céline Sabatié, who has ten years experience in the trade working for the likes of Armit Wines and Berkmann Wine Cellars, will be taking on the role.

The appointment comes off the back of solid sales at the Burgundy, US and Italy specialists, which further encouraged them to expand the team.

The financial year ended with sales growth of 33% and an increase in turnover of 42% on the previous year.

While some business have remained cautious due to difficult trading conditions, Flint has significantly expanded its team and its wine list over the last couple of years.

Director Jason Haynes said the new position will provide “essential vision, drive and problem solving to enable Flint to advance to the next level as efficiently and as quickly as possible”.

Sabatié will head up plans to grow the team further and develop the business with a focus on customer service.

Flint Wines has been in business since 2006, building up a supply base of quality restaurants and wine merchants.

It works directly with over 120 Domaines and wineries across the world.

It was a contender for the On-Trade Supplier of the Year at the IWC Merchant Awards this year for the third year running.
