The winners of this year’s Think Gin awards were unveiled as the Harpers and Drinks Retailing News event returned to London bigger and better than ever.
With a fantastic line up of debates and masterclasses, presented by some of the most gin-savvy experts in the trade, the free to attend Think Gin event took place yesterday in central London culminating in the announcement of this year’s winners:
Specialist Gin Retailer (Independent): Gerry’s of Soho
Specialist Gin Retailer (Multiple Sites): Majestic
Best Gin Bar (Independent): The Oliver Conquest
Best gin Bar (Multiple Sites): Hogarths
Best Gin Wholesaler: Enotria & Coe
Gin Communicator: Oliver Ward
Supermarket Gin Retailer: Waitrose
The fourth annual Think Gin event did, as per usual, bring together a wide array of carefully chosen independent quality producers, offering individual, craft and smaller batch gins for tasting, with much to discover for those looking to keep abreast of this still burgeoning category.
In addition, it had some of the most knowledgeable people in the gin world, on hand to deliver advice, tips and insights into the latest developments and trends, and how best to fine tune your gin portfolio to make the most of the opportunities offered by this ever-evolving spirit.
Olivier Ward of the Gin Foundry co-hosted the opening debate, with last year’s Gin Communicator of the Year Leon Dalloway and all round gin expert, consultant and communicator David T Smith led the masterclasses exploring the latest trends shaping the category.
